Article detailing new features and differences of the new EEmail system

IRONKEEP is wrapping up migration to our new mail platform! This guide will help you transition to the new system.

Migration Notes

Some users may receive duplicate messages. This is a one time issue. Most users will notice no issues.

Some users may be using very old mail settings. As such this may result in the need to update to the latest settings discussed below.

Some passwords are not importing for certain users, this has to do with a password format incompatibility. Reseting the password will allow these users to retrieve mail once again.

Server Settings

Incoming Mail Server:
POP or IMAP (IMAP is recommended for your safety)
user name/account name is full email address
msg.ironkeep.net
enable TLS/SSL (Secure Socket Layer)

Outgoing Mail Server:
SMTP
msg.ironkeep.net
Requires Authentication (same username and password as incoming)
port 587 (usually found under advanced)
enable TLS/SSL (Secure Socket Layer)

Admin Tool

The new email admin tool is located here: vault.ironkeep.net
If you do not have a VAULT account please call and we will get one setup for you!

Web Mail

The new webmail is located here: webmail.ironkeep.net

For Best results please use Firefox 2.01+ Safari 31.2+ or IE 7+

User Settings

All user controlled settings can be set via the options panel within the webmail. There is no longer a reason for a user to have to login into VAULT. This includes: vacation message, spam filter threshold, password reset, mail forwarding and copy to, etc.

Spam Filtering

All filtered messages are now deposited into a folder accessible via webmail or IMAP called “Junk”. To retrieve messages move the messages to your “Inbox” from the “Junk” folder. Adding an email contact to your webmail address book will “whitelist” messages from that sender.

Notable New Features

1 GB IMAP accessible mail box

Web 2.0 Webmail Client

We would like to thank Jim Bolinski at Advanced Computer Solutions for recommending IRONKEEP™ email and web hosting services to his clients.

About ACS

Advanced Computer Solutions is a small to medium sized business support service, with special expertise in Electronic Medical Records systems for Medical Clinics.

Established in 1999 with a focus on providing affordable networking services to the small business community, my (Jim Bolinski) 38 years in the field has allowed us to propose solutions that will accomplish the given task without excessive technology investments for our customers. Always keeping the customer’s need first we have grown steadily without any advertising, relying totally upon referrals from our customers.

What People Are Saying About ACS

“I wanted to let you know that Jim Bolinski from Advanced Computer
Solutions has been an excellent IT resource for myself and many other
physicians in the community over the years. He is very reasonably
priced, reliable, efficient, and knowledgeable. He is currently
working with my practice and is acting as a consultant to the hand
surgery group as well in getting this ECW up and running.”

“Other practice IT personnel have been contacting me to get his number
as he has become the local “expert” in the ECW hardware and network
requirements, remote connection requirements for ECW (for connecting
from home) , dual internet connection set up, etc. He is attending the
local ECW users group meetings and helping to disseminate information.”

“Anyway, if any of your practices are asking for someone, I highly
recommend him.”

Dr Laura Shea

“We have used Advanced Computer Solutions for many years. Jim and his team are knowledgeable, friendly, and have been easy to work with at all times. The service and products that they provide and stand behind are excellent. We would not consider going anywhere else for our IT support and computer needs!”

Dr. Damon Adams, Adams Dental Seminars LLC, Traverse City MI

Advanced Financial Group, Inc. has been using Advanced Computer Solutions for the last 6+ years and we have been completely satisfied by their work. Both Jim Bolinski and his staff have been very responsive to technology problems that inevitably arise in any business from time-to-time. They’ve also been very helpful in helping us protect our data, maintain a stable network environment, and assisting us in a variety of ways as our business and technology needs continue to grow. I would not hesitate for a moment to recommend them to other local businesses.

A new Enterprise Email service has been introduced by IRONKEEP™...

TRAVERSE CITY, MI (For Immediate Release, Wednesday, March 11th, 2009) – A new Enterprise Email service has been introduced by IRONKEEP™, a local fiber-optic connected ultra high-speed remote data storage company and internet service provider (ISP).

The Sun Microsystems™-based Email service enhanced and modified for user friendly provisioning by IRONKEEP™, is competitive with local exchange installations and hosted exchange services, explains Zachary Schneider, CIO (Chief Information Officer) and Ironkeep™ Systems Engineer.

“Today’s business hinges on solid Email communications and frankly our market deserves better,” he said, noting that existing Microsoft Exchange solutions are in his opinion costly with steep licensing fees, require ongoing maintenance, don’t run well on low quality hardware and support limited users with high quality hardware. He also predicted future customer service announcements this summer involving Sun Microsystems’™ new Aries technology.

In contrast, Zach pointed out that IRONKEEP’s™ new Email system competes favorably with MS Exchange in all areas. It provides Email, groupware and calendaring functionality, outlook integration, spam and virus removal, and online mail storage. “Plus, your Email data is also secure since it’s hosted on our resilient storage platform with off site replication.”

Other features of the new Email service:
• No licensing fees
• A lack of 24/7 exchange server monitoring costs
• No costly updates
• Monthly flat rate per account
• Safe data storage
• Free and open platforms offered by a local company
